Blueberry Pies

My son loves blueberries and when they are in season we buy them almost daily.
Today I managed to sideline some blueberries to make blueberry pies adapting a recipe by Martha Stewart.

For the pastry I mixed 240g flour, 80g sugar, 100g cold butter, vanilla essence and half an egg (whisked).

I wanted to bring the pies to the park so I made closed pies (pasties) with my pie gadget.

Next I lined the pastry with some marzipan, added the blueberries and some orange zest (ready bought, I must admit) and brushed the rims with egg wash before pressing the pies into shape.

After 25 minutes in the oven at 180C the pies were done.

They made great sweet fingerfood for a sunny afternoon in the park.
