The battle continued and I think I won! Getting the cake out of the tin was the most difficult bit.
Then I cut the tops off to get equally shaped parts. I assembled these in the Battenberg style using apricot jam as plaster material.
I then wrapped the cake in marzipan and trimmed the edges. I have to admit I bought ready made rolled out marzipan.
I used the leftover marzipan to add some decorations with the help of my sugar flower and cake deco tools. I’d say this Battenberg has the wow-factor!
