Today I felt like having a typical vegetarian dish or starter more like. Hummus. It is a dip made from chickpeas, olive oil, garlic and tahini (sesame seed purée). I don’t know where the word ‘chickpea’ stems from. In German they are called ‘Kichererbsen’ which translated literally means ‘Gigglepeas’.
Making Hummus is easy. I used canned chickpeas (1 can equalling 250g) because I did not have time to soak dried ones.
